Pehchaan was a 1 hour webinar that our team conducted on the topic gender and sexuality. The webinar speaker was Ms Manavi Khurana, who specializes in counselling for LGBTQ+ people.
Ms Manavi Khurana did her bachelors in psychology, women's studies and education, and masters in applied psychology. She specializes in LGBTQIA+ mental health and sexuality related issues. LGBTQIA+ community faces a lot of discrimination in the modern world. There is an utmost need to educate the society on the gender and sexuality spectrum and let everyone know that it is okay to love people irrespective of what they identify as. To spread awareness about this exact issue is why we conducted this 1 hour webinar.
In the webinar, Ms Manavi talked about sexual orientations and introduced the topic of gender and how its a social construct. She then proceeded to talk about sexual orientations and the different types of sexual orientations that are present. Pronouns and inclusivity were also discussed, after questions from paritcipants on how to make the world a safer place. We impacted around 40-50 people with the help of this webinar, and raised important awareness on gender and sexual orientation.”
